I couldn’t be a military wife….

…though I have so much respect for them.

I’ve talked to other friends about this, and most of us are just in awe of military parents. My mom was one herself, and also worked outside the home. My SIL is one as well. My brother is currently deployed to the Middle East. I miss him.

And, as selfish as it sounds, I’m glad that’s not the route that we ended up with in our family. As I said, I know how selfish that sounds.

But I am so thankful for those who have and are serving. And I’m proud to support them. I pray for them all a day of honor, respect, encouragement, and hope.

An honorable Memorial Day to you.

  1. I know what you mean. My husband was in the Marines when we got married. I was devastated when he had to get out (for medical reasons). Now that we have kids, I’m glad that he’s at home. I don’t know how I’d cope with him gone. I have a lot of respect for the sacrifice that the military families are making. Let’s keep them in our prayers.
