I Hate Spending Money!

Today I totally went outside my comfort zone. Every bit as much as Marc leaves his comfort zone when it comes to sex….maybe more so because he does not hyperventilate and get nauseous and cry…
I bought a laptop….and a new camera.
Now, I just got the second half of the money for the cookbook I was contracted to write last summer. Yes, there are other things that could be done with the money but my work does require me to be on computer a lot. A laptop will allow me to be in the den when the family is there, or anywhere else..and when I am sitting for hours at the VA I can be working..The camera is also a necessary part of what I do. I use my own images on Baking Delights. It is important to the success of my blog that I have images.
But there is the whole part of me that can think of fifty other things the money could be spent on. Bills, savings….we are just now climbing out of a difficult financial time.
Marc thinks I am silly, and I think he gets a little frustrated at my inability to spend money. I am not cheap with other people..just myself. I don’t like spending money but I don’t mind spending for necessary items for others..
Am I the only freak like this?
P.S….the laptop is ….red.

hi…we’re the opposite, i love spending my others and myself! Think of it as a reward for your hard work. It works with me!
Nope. I have really hard time spending money on me. Not because I think I’m not worthy, but becase there always seems to be a hundred other places it needs to go.
Congratulations on your new computer and camera. I’m pretty you sure you not only need them you deserve them.
Nope, not a freak. I think you are a normal mom.
ok snickering……did I just call,you a normal mom? I didn’t mean to be insulting.
I know exactly how you feel Marye. I have a horrible time spending on myself – mainly because I can always think of a trillion other things that need to be addressed first.
Think of it as a business expense – possibly a write off on your taxes – and that those pay checks will allow those purchases to pay for themselves. And a bonus – great pictures of the whole family enjoying Thanksgiving this year!
God Bless and have a Blessed holiday!
Niki
LOL! Christine..that is a good way to look at it
Heather..thanks
Ginger..You are too funny
Niki ..you too!
You did not spend for needless frivolity. You looked over the situation and spent in the best place as you believed at the time. Trust your judgement and try not to second guess yourself.
And remember – even when you don’t have extra, a little bit of frivolity can be a good thing.
Dave
it just seems so frivolous!

Just like my better-half.
