I wanted to thank you for sharing this. I used to have a copy of the short version of this. It was in our hymnal at church. I had wanted to share it with my present pastor, so I copied from another site and emailed it. I had no idea this was linked in any way to AA. This is an amazing piece. I have spent many an hour pondering on the meaning. Each time I read it, I discovered something new. This should be published in every church bulletin at least once. It will open our eyes in my opinion. It continues to open my eyes. Do I want to be standing at the door or do I want to go all the way inside and never have to worry? I feel I am inside the door but after reading the "prose", I also wonder if I would rather stand by the door just to help people find their way in. How blessed this message is.
