I Still Don’t Understand Teens…
I don’t think I even tasted coffee until I was well out of highschool, but now the shops are full of teens. They love the stuff! And then there are the specialty drinks that are growing in favor as well! That’s the part that really confuses me.
It’s 3:40 on a Friday afternoon, and the jeans-and-plaid crowd begins to march in at ChocoLat? Coffee in northeast Atlanta.
“Faith Khalik, 16, a sophomore at St. Pius X Catholic High School, orders a frappe, a concoction of ice, milk, coffee and syrup that looks like a bubble bath in a plastic cup by the time it’s served to her.”I like the cold stuff,” said Faith. “It’s like ice cream.”
So, if she wants something that tastes like ice cream, why doesn’t she simply order a milkshake. There is at least a little nutritional value in a milkshake and none in coffee that I know of.
I think that even now… if I had to choose between a coffee and a milkshake and not have to worry about the sugar content, I would go for the milkshake ever time! And although I have to admit, I love my coffee breaks now, a milkshake isn’t going to stain your teeth! I would think that white teeth would be a huge concern to teens!
That is truly frightening. I hope I can keep my son from drinking coffee until he’s fully grown. *sigh*

I’m just surprised that most teens don’t seem to mind that the coffee does such a great job of staining their teeth!
It’ll be too late when they realize it!
