IBM Joins The Fight Against The Spread Of Infectious Diseases

As reported in Computer Business Review Online:

IBM has joined the Global Pandemic Initiative, a collaborative effort to help stem the spread of infectious diseases. IBM will use advanced software technologies to identify and map potential outbreaks and establish healthcare.

IBM will use an Interoperable Healthcare Information Infrastructure (IHII), designed to facilitate the sharing of clinical data and trends including the outbreak if disease among medical facilities, laboratories and public health agencies.
