Idyllic Moments

A Cuppa in a Perth Cafe

This morning I enjoyed an idyllic moment after doing a little bit of shopping in the city. My husband had taken our little boy to King’s Park so he could play in the playground. I sat in a café and wrote in my journal while having a lovely long black coffee. It was fun describing my surroundings, the aroma of foods, the sounds of meals & coffees being prepared, the murmur of conversations and the traffic outside.

Then my husband rang to say our little boy had fallen off the swing and hurt his knee. Of course, that event changed everything and my idyllic moment was lost. We raced him to the hospital, only to wait for ages, but in the long run our little boy has a fractured leg and a plaster from mid-thigh to just before his toes on his left leg.

Now I’m exhausted, but glad I can reflect on the earlier idyllic moment. I hope you enjoyed some tranquility amidst the chaos of your daily life today by writing in your journal, too.

Sorry to hear about your little boy. I’m sure he’ll have lots of fun letting all his friends sign his cast though…or maybe you can reserve it for yourself and journal all over it lol. Anyway, it’s nice to finally see the coffee and cafe you’ve talked about so much before :) .

  2. Hi Toddmen,
Thanks for your thoughts about my little boy. I don’t think there’s any room left on the cast already after the rest of the family wrote all over it. Lol. Actually, the cafe in the photo is one I’ve never been to before, but I’ll try for some photos of my favourite in the next couple of weeks. Thanks for your comment. ;-)

Oh Heather, I’m so sorry about your son! Big ((((hugs))))

  4. Hi Chloe,
Thanks. He is feeling a lot better today, but that’s kind of a mixed blessing. He’s getting a bit bored and frustrated now. ;-)
