If You’re Nervous and You Know it

We officially have the Birth Certificate and our representative is on his way to Gus’s hometown to have it authenticated. He hopes to have the passport and have all of the paperwork filed with the Embassy by Friday.

If all goes well, DNA could be ordered this week.

Like I said last Friday, I am nervous that the adoption is so close. We have a tremendous amount of unfinished business…so many things on our to-do list that my mind is racing, my stomach churning. I guess it just all caught up to me, as I never allowed myself to feel like it was real or to do anything until now, until confirmation.

I’m now scrambling to wash and go though AJ’s old clothing to see what might fit Gus, washing the fabulous hand-me-downs that my Chicago Mom friend loaned to me, have Eric hang shelves for the boys clothing, finish refinishing the basement, find a changing pad cover because no one ever has one in the store (and Babies R Us is 30 minutes away!), and plan everything for my parents to babysit for AJ.

Whew…Breathe, Breathe…

Keep breathing….I was in such a panic but everything WORKED OUT and now I can barely even remember the stressed out and panicked feelings I had. Sit down and imagine that in just a few weeks it will all be behind you and Gus will be home…you’ll be adjusting to new things but at least that adjusting will be happening on your own turf. Woo Hoo!
