If you’re obese, your pregnancy may be more expensive

Researchers have found that women who are obese and who become pregnant end up having more medical tests than pregnant women who are not obese.
They found that obese women saw the doctor more often, had more tests – including ultrasounds – and took more medications. Also, because many obese women have Caesarian sections or have problems with blood pressure or gestational diabetes, they stay in the hospital longer.
You can read more about this in the article, Obesity elevates pregnancy costs.
