I’ll Bring the Fruit!

Whenever I’m invited to a summer cookout or barbecue, I always offer to bring the fruit. It’s available everywhere during the summer, and you can throw together a fruit salad or fruit dessert with thousands of different combinations. And it’s healthy for you. You know there will be at least one healthy (and delicious) dessert for you to munch on.

You can’t go wrong with fruit. Here are a few summer fruit ideas:
Honestly, you can throw together any combination of the following and make a wonderful summer fruit salad:
- strawberries
- sweet cherries
- raspberries
- blackberries
- peaches
- watermelon
- cantaloupe
- honey dew
- blue berries
- grapes
Top them with whipped topping and you have dessert!















Last year for the track party, I bought containers of cut up fruit from Kroger’s on the way from work. Not only was it perfect, but after everyone went through the line, one boy picked up one of the half full containers, asked if anyone wanted more then took it to their table to polish off.
Heh heh, we just did our weekly grocery shopping. I think I ‘bought the farm’ with all the fruit I purchased.
