Thanks Lara!

Heather I am going to look into some Christian dating things for you. Also, I am going to write you an email because I have something else I want to say in private. :D

Kristi, that is a very interesting idea.

I think that is a great idea. Maybe to bypass the online dating sites, create a group on Facebook called "Date for New Years 2009" or something. I personally think people's Facebook/Myspace profiles are much more revealing of people's personalities than dating site profiles, as the latter are meant to sell themselves for dates, and the former are just how they are with friends/family/etc (for the most part).

Heather - I'd agree with you on the spirituality importance thing, but I think people tend to be more honest on match (believe it or not). Just seems in my experience with eHarmony, people answer and post what they THINK looks good, rather than being themselves.

Of course, that could happen anywhere, on any site, but I seem to see it more on eHarmony than elsewhere.

I figure if there is someone whose profile I am really interested in, I'll give it a try. My issue is in finding someone whose religion/spirituality is as important to them as mine is to me. It's the one thing I absolutely refuse to comprimise on, and for some reason, I feel like that's easier to control on eHarmony than on match.com. That could just be in my head, though. I'm also gearing up for busy season at work, and I'm not sure I want to be that exhausted again. Trying to work 65 hours a week and date on top of it.

But I agree, if someone sparks my interest, there is no harm in trying a date or two again.

Love this idea, Michelle.

I've done exactly what you suggest in that comment, too. I've decided that one date, one coffee or meal, isn't going to kill me.

After that last jerk, I decided to go back to lurk mode a little, and will see what happens if I find some guy whose profile really hits a nail for me, or if I'm contacted by someone.

I deserve to have a social life, dammit! LOL

Heather, I noticed that there seems to be a more varied choice on Match.com, than eHarmony. Have you noticed that? Did you see anyone that looked interesting?

Can you start with something easy, like coffee? If you don't feel comfortable, you can go right back to lurk mode. I know it's hard to get out there again, isn't it?

I've been lurking around on match.com, but so far, I can't convince myself I'm ready to date again.
