I’m so proud of my daughter!

Not only did she make me a killer pair of elf ears, but wait till you see her own costume! She and her buds went to Salem for Halloween day (yes, Salem Massachusetts), but were smart enough to be back to campus before sunset
She wrote to me that she even got photographed by the Boston Globe and made the evening news on our ABC affiliate! Here’s the link if you want to see it. You have to watch a stupid commercial first, but it’s short. Dani is the angel of death who immediately follows the Police Chief near the beginning of the clip.
She wrote to me: “How’d your halloween go? Mine was fantastic. I was a hit in Salem. I was photographed by Boston Globe, and look, I even made channel 5 news!! (although apparently according to them I don’t think Halloween is a family event, hahah)”
Here’s a couple shots that her friends took:

You guys look AWESOME – how did she walk around with those wings?
the wings are incredible! I love the fangs. Great costume!
love the ears! And you daughter’s costume-OMG!!!! This is beyond fantastic!!
Hi Cyndi,
Your ears are awesome…and your daughter’s costume….OMG. We don’t have Halloween in Australia but are aware of it. My whole family vote that your daughter’s costume is beyond WOW..those wings !!!! Incredible.

That is an amazing costume. She did such a fantastic, Hollywood style, job!
That is one amazing costume. But, I don’t know, your elf ears are so understated I bet they caught people by surprise!
Thanks for all the thumbs up’s guys! Dani worked amazingly hard on those wings, and they’re actually mechanical, so she didn’t have to walk around with them unfurled all the time. She had to *make* many of the feathers, because they don’t come that big in nature, at least not legal ones
The ears, yeah…they were so subtle that many people stared at them but were uncertain what to think. My ears are really small, and with the extensions, they were about normal adult size…but pointed LOL!!
Dani’s costume is fantastic! Love the ears, too. Thanks for sharing these pix with us.
I was here when you first posted but didn’t get a chance to comment. Wow. Dani is amazing. Not only did she find time to make that amazing costume (mechanical wings… is she an industrial mechanics student by any chance?) but she even found time to make mom those cool elf ears!
I’d love to see an interview with Dani about her inspiration for the costume and how she went about it all.

Maybe I can get her to agree to do that when this semester is over! hmmmm….
Christy, thanks! Dani is an art student with a math minor. Talk about speaking out of both sides of your brain…
Is she now? Wow! I gotta tell you that is actually one heck of a combination. And I second the idea of doing a profile on Dani. I would love to not only learn more about her amazing costume but maybe see a few other things that she has done. I wish my daughter would pick up a pen or paint brush again. I’m getting her a watercolor set for x-mas and a watercolor journal just to see if I can motivate her
OK, guys! I’m on the case…
LOL!!
