In-law quarters

While I’m not sure my dad would want to live with us under any circumstances, (remember, I have three kids, he only had one) an “In-law” suite is a solution for some people who have aging parents who need to be closer for safety as well as social reasons.

This article in the Tennessean newspaper features two families who made in-law suites in their homes work for them. One family converted their home into a duplex and another family found a house with a spacious downstairs apartment to bring elderly in-laws to live with them.

Both choices can be altered as physical limitations require modifications to the environment.
