Incorporating Pets Into Your Crafts

Pets generally have universal appeal.  Even if someone doesn’t have a pet, they still respond to pictures and designs of them, even the pet “in person.”  So why not incorporate pets into your craft business…at least into some portion?

They may even become part of your brand, as author/illustrator Jan Brett’s hedgehog, Hedgie, has.

Pets might inhabit your workplace…and your walk-in shop if they’re good with the public and customers aren’t allergic.

Place pet designs on your products.  You don’t have to do it with everything, but occasionally to see how they appeal.  You might incorporate pets into your fabric art, rug making, knitting, painting, pottery and more.

You could take specific orders that incorporate a customer’s pet.  I once did sketches and paintings of people’s pets.

You could make items for pets.

Add pets to your advertising and promotional materials.

Do you incorporate pets into your crafts?
