Interview on Solving Infertility with the Conception Kit

As promised, here’s the interview explaining the use of the Conception Kit. Don’t forget, you can still enter to win the Conception Kit by November 24. Go to the contest post to enter.

The questions in bold are from me, and the answers are from Dr. Charles R. Barker, a Board Certified Family Practice Physician and member of the Medical Advisory Board for the Conception Kit. He has a private practice in West Michigan.

Could you briefly explain the benefits of the cervical cap insemination technique?

Dr. Charles R. Barker:
The Conception Kit focuses on the couple and unlike many other fertility techniques that separate a baby-feet.jpgcouple and focus on an individual, it brings the couple together to achieve conception and empowers them to take control of their infertility issues in the privacy of their own home. The Conception Cap concentrates the semen at the cervical Os, which brings the sperm closer to the egg, allows more sperm to enter the uterus, and enhances the opportunity to conceive.

Cervical cap insemination can help couples to overcome some of the more common infertility issues, including low sperm count, poor sperm motility, and position of the cervix. It can also assist couples that may want to time a pregnancy. For example, a teacher that would prefer delivering during the summer or an accountant that wants to deliver anytime but during tax season.

Do you recommend the cervical cap insemination technique for couples who’ve had trouble conceiving? If so, why?

Dr. Charles R. Barker:
Absolutely. If a couple has been unsuccessful in trying to conceive for 6-12 months, it is time to talk to their family doctor or OB/GYN. The Kit is the first FDA cleared device approved for in-home use. Most couples have infertility issues that can be overcome without the use of expensive and invasive techniques, which is especially relevant in these trying economic times. The cost of the Conception Kit at $300, is less expensive than a laboratory semen analysis.

The Kit is the first logical step for couples having difficulty conceiving, just as if someone who has a headache for the first time would take an aspirin rather than order an MRI. Also, since it does not use any medications, it can be used with fertility medications such as Clomid.

Are there any disadvantages to using this technique, and are there reasons anyone should avoid using this technique to become pregnant?

Dr. Charles R. Barker:
There are no disadvantages to using the Conception Kit. There are no medications used. The Kit is hypoallergenic and sperm friendly. Couples follow the simple instructions and monitor their fertility status, together. Most importantly, they conceive together. While working with their physician, even couples with significant infertility issues could utilize the Conception Kit.

Everyone varies, but, in general, what kind of success rates may users of the Conception Cap (cervical cap in the Conception Kit by Conceivex) expect?

Dr. Charles R. Barker:
Many couples of all walks of life have had success with the Conception Kit, including couples who initially turned to the Kit as a first line treatment, as well as couples that had spent tens of thousands of dollars over many years trying to conceive. It enhances the natural process of conception.

Would you like to add anything?

Dr. Charles R. Barker:
Infertility affects more than seven million American couples each year and between drugs, tests, doctor visits and invasive procedures, couples are spending tens of thousands of dollars trying to conceive. Following the advice at ConceptionKit.com and using the Kit is a logical, inexpensive first step in achieving the goal of becoming pregnant and having a child. The Conception Kit is available at ConceptionKit.com and at select DesignRX pharmacies.
