Hi Cherie and Carol, thanks for stopping and leaving a comment. It's always good to share about people who do good and I think Kathy is one of them. Laughter is always one of the best medicines for patients, families, and caregivers.

I'm the founder of WorkingCaregiver.com... designed for family caregivers working full-time and caring for an aging relative. Our goal is to help working caregivers find family & work balance!

I love KnowItAlz! It brings smiles to my face... and laughter! My dad had Alz so I know some of the sweet stories AND some of the heartaches too. I want to remember the sweet ones.. Thank you Kathy for focusing on the sweet ones.

Liz,
When I was surfing for information about Alzheimer's, Kathy's blog was one of the first ones I found. I was instantly hooked and from her sight found many other wonderful places and "met" wonderful people. Laughter IS the best medicine and I respect and admire her for finding something to laugh about every day. It's not easy finding something funny in AD!

Mary Emma and Yvonne, glad you liked the interview but the credit all goes to Kathy - I just asked the questions. And agree Yvonne about the photos - pictures often tell the story...

A great interview Liz. Thanks for sharing Kathy's positive outlook and approach.

I especially love the inclusion of the photos which give an immediate personal connection with Kathy and her family.

Liz, what a wonderful interview! I've discovered Kathy's blog, too. I've been impressed with her blog and her anecdotes about life with her Dad. It's great to get to know Kathy better. Even though my mom is no longer with us, I smile when I read Kathy's insights which bring back the happier memories of caring for Mother during her journey through Alzheimer's. I kept a spasmodic journal (blogging wasn't available then) while caring for Mother. I realized we had to see the humor in each day when Mother remarked, "We don't laugh enough, do we?" This has enabled me to look back upon those years of caring for Mother with fond memories rather than totally devastating ones.
