Investment Counsel?

I have a good idea why this poem is titled “Investment Counsel.”
From “Living Sober“ we are given some insight into what might be wise things to spend a few dollars/cents on in early sobriety…
In the first few weeks without a drink
When the wolf is at the door,
And the sheriff’s at the window
And you’re sleeping on the floor,
And life looks bleak and hopeless
From a monetary angle,
It’s time to spend, in certain ways,
To solve the awful tangle:
That token or that bus fare
To get you to a meeting,
That dime (?) to use the telephone
For that necessary greeting,
That nickel (?) for “expenses”
That makes you feel you matter,
That dollar for the coffee shop
For after-meeting chatter.
All these are wise investments
For the neophyte to make.
This “bread,” when cast upon the waters,
Always comes back cake.
The question marks were added by me… this has almost, not quite, withstood the test of time lol…

I think this could be true for anyone dealing with an addiction — food, alcohol, drugs…
Absolutely definitely! Thanks for dropping in
Hi Mark,
Sorry I am late to comment here, but thanks. I appreciate your comment and agree with you. I also wanted to ask if you can screen your comments on B5? Someone – bet you can guess who – is making blogging a lot less fun lately. If I could just block his comments, it would be great.
xxxoooo, mc
Good morning
And – I hear ya’!
I haven’t used Blogger for a loooong time but as I recall you don’t have anything like Akismet that you can add to your blog or am I wrong? We have Akismet built in to these WP blogs and that puts Micky/David/Patrick/Whoever his highness thinks he is right now, into a moderation queue. That enables me to mark him as spam which I’ve been doing for months now. Then I just delete the bugger…
What I would suggest you folks do (yeah, I see him all over – sick – has no life) is flag his blog as often as you can. Matter of fact I think I’ll do that when I’m finished writing this comment. If he’s flagged often enough Google will disable, or better yet, delete his blog. It no doubt won’t stop him but it might slow his evil work down.
I guess if he harasses us enough we could report him to his ISP. I have (don’t know if Blogger does this either) his ISP’s identification somewhere.
Other than all that, delete, delete, delete etc. Unless, last resort, we take a plane ride to Australia and…
Have a great day – unless you have other plans
