Is Exercise Enough?

A new UK study published in the International Journal of Obesity shows that one size may not fit all when it comes to exercise. 35 overweight or obese participants were supervised for 12 weeks while following an exercise program individually designed to burn 500 calories per session.
What they found is that people lost varying amounts of weight due to conpensating by eating more – either because exercise increased their appetite or they decided to reward themselves.(Science Daily)
This shows that exercise is not always enough if you don’t control your intake also. It’s common sense to many of us, but others think that as long as they’re diligent about exercising, they’ll lose weight.
You can take a poll about the subject here. The results showed that for the majority, exercise is not enough to get the weight off – they have to watch what they eat, too.
Has this been true for you? Let me know in the comments.

Yes, It’s true for me and many overweight people at largeplace.com. We get more weight when doing exercise without contolling of intake.
I also read something interesting that the more weight you lose, the more exercise you will have to do to lose weight – because the extra weight makes you burn more calories. Thanks for commenting!
