Is Latte Bad for Dogs?

Oh Oh – I can answer that one!

Yeah – Ummm – No!

Yesterday, my son and I had to make a run to the pharmacy. While we were gone, we made one last trip to our local Starbucks that officially closes it’s doors tomorrow.

I got my regular and very loved Venti Latte Triple with 3 sugars in the raw.

It was a little on the hot side so I took it home where I was looking forward to settling in later with a good book and my latte.

I had an important call to make and went to my room where I could talk in private. The call lasted about 45 minutes. When I emerged from my room, I went to get my latte and couldn’t find it anywhere.

I started looking all over – thinking I’d lost my mind – I knew I’d sat that thing on my kitchen table.

That’s when I saw my tiny pocket puppy running around with the cup sleeve – and only the sleeve.

When I went to take a step toward pocket puppy, my foot stuck to the floor. I realized then that demon Bassett Rose had gotten my coffee off the table, spilled it on the floor where she and the other dogs enjoyed a nice afternoon caffeine break.

Pocket puppy was the most obvious on a high – she was flying through the house, growling in a way I’d never seen her do – the others were obviously strung out and more anxious than ever before.

I can’t believe they drank my latte – but for anyone who has ever wondered if coffee is bad for dogs, rest assured that my dogs survived a 12 ounce triple latte no problemo!
