If you owned Treehugger.com, you might be pretty wealthy by now. Discovery would have purchased you by now.
Discovery actually bought Treehugger.com as part of their green business which is named the Planet Green network and it is scheduled to go full blast by next year. Well, that would not be surprising for Treehugger.com is the numero uno green web site at present.
According to a released announcement from Discovery:
“The deal brings TreeHugger.com’s rich mix of news, blogs and advice to Planet Green and furthers Discovery’s previously announced goal of developing original programming related to the environment, sustainable development, conservation and organic living. In acquiring TreeHugger.com, Discovery is pursuing its multiplatform strategy of being the leading content provider across nonfiction genres around the world.”
But now, you see, I’m thinking. What changes would there be at Treehugger.com? Or would there be any changes at all? Well, changes or none, I just hope that anything that happens to the green site would be for the better.

Treehugger is absolutely one of my top five favorite sites on the web. I really, really hope that being part of Discovery (a family type network) doesn’t take away some of the raw aspects of Treehugger. I’m a little worried. But I hope it’s in vein.
Discovery channel is one of my favorite. I strongly believe Treehugger will have positive changes.
Personally treehugger doesn’t do that much for me. Sure, it’s a great resource, but there are far too many posts a day clogging up my feed reader, which means I tend to skim them probably missing the best stuff.
Discovery is brilliant though!
