Yep. It is time to rev up the engine of this vehicle which has been given the green signal. I am talking about the solar car built by a team from the University of Calgary. This solar car has been given the approval that it can already race in an international competition this coming Sunday, a news item stated.
This solar car from the University of Calgary is known as the Schulich 1. Last Thursday, it had already zoomed through the Texas Motorsports Ranch and finished fourth. That made it qualify for the upcoming 2008 North American Solar Challenge.
Darshni Pillay is the operations manager for the Schulich 1 team. On this, he said, “It’s been impressive to watch our team work together to overcome the problems that have come up and get the car qualified for the race before most of the other teams.”
Kudos to the University of Calgary and to the Schulich 1 team!

I think that when teams compete at this sort of thing, we all win. Just like the X prize for space now for aviation fuel. They spend all the money and we benefit. Plus, I’m sure it’s a blast!
