tax day

I filed mine; did you? Suffice it to say that Tax Day is not a pleasant day for freelancers in the United States.

Do you ever wonder where those dollars are going? The Council for Contemporary Families offers these tax facts:

For every $100 in income tax you pay,

  • $32 goes to national defense
  • $19 goes towards interest on the national debt
  • $6 goes towards education, employment, and social services.
  • $2 goes towards environment and natural resources
  • $1 goes to science, space, and technology

So little for the environment.. kinda sad.

    Thanks for the break down.

  2. Sandy Mitchell says:

    Thanks for visiting, Peggy.

It was kind of difficult not to make this an editorial post, but the numbers really speak for themselves (unfortunately).
