Jean Pocket Organizer

We had about 20 pairs of old jeans sitting around because it seemed like there should be something we could do with them. Some of the carpenter jeans had nice, big pockets on them. I was looking at them the other day when I thought of the perfect use for the carpenter jean pockets.

Cut each of the pockets out close to the seams to avoid having untidy frayed edges. Get a piece of scrap wood that was about 24 inches by 18 inches. Then, sand, primer and paint it. After it dries, use hot glue to attach pockets to the board. I recommend three columns of three pockets, leaving plenty of space above each row of pockets for tall things to stick out of them. Finish the organizer off with a picture frame hanger on the back.

This simple organizer is perfect for a boy’s room or can be dressed up with rickrack and other trims for a girl’s room.
