Jerry Seinfeld’s car accident could have been a lot worse

While comedian Jerry Seinfeld made light of his car accident, I’m sure he realizes just how lucky he was.
At the end of March, Jerry was driving his vintage car when he lost his brakes and flipped over (Seinfeld’s Car Flips Over). He was trying to joke about the accident afterwards, but those people who have been injured in car accidents know only too well how devastating something can be.
We know about the obvious injuries that can happen – luckily many of them are short-term, but there are many that end up causing life-long chronic pain. Besides the obvious injuries are the hidden ones. One that most of us know about is whiplash.
Whiplash occurs when your body is pitched forward at such a rate that your head snaps back and then bounces forward again. This motion puts a huge strain on the neck structure and can cause severe, even debilitating injuries.
So, take a lesson from Jerry – make sure your brakes work.
