Did you know that women are traditionally charged more for health coverage than men? To help combat that, Senator John Kerry has introduced legislation that would “change how insurance companies charge for health care benefits for women.” His legislation is called “The Women’s Health Insurance Fairness Act” and would protect women from being denied coverage or having it limited because of pregnancy. This would especially help women who have to buy their own insurance, like the self-employed.
