Jon & Kate Plus 8 – Hot or Not?
A couple of years ago, I started watching Jon & Kate Plus 8 – mostly because of the “mothers of multiples” connection. However, within two seasons I was over the show and ready to move on to something bigger – like Little People Big World.
When first watching the show, it was reassuring to me to see another mother struggling with day-to-day activities and just getting from the waking up part of the day to the lights out part of the night without losing her mind completely.
What I found toward the end of season two was that the show was actually stressing me out. Seriously!
Certainly my being OCD myself, I can understand some of Kate’s demands, but come’on – she’s getting a little over the top. I know it’s probably more for show than anything – but there has to be a line where you realize it’s time to stop play acting and start actually living life!
I’m glad the show has last as long as it has, but sometimes it’s just time to move on and let families be families in peace. They have their new big fine home and lots of room for the kiddos to grow – but I think the show has run it’s course and should end before those kids get old enough to be bullied too much in school.
Sometimes privacy is a good thing and now is the time for Jon & Kate Gosselin to think about finding an appreciation for privacy and make way for some other family to be invaded by TLC/Discovery Health for a while.
Should Jon & Kate call it quits? You tell me – hot or not?
Absolutely this show should be stopped. The children are the ones suffering. Their lack of privacy is appalling.
They’ve been shown on potty chairs, during their “meltdowns”, screaming and crying, in the doctors office and in the dentist chair.
The parents have been recorded putting down their children for the whole world to see and have humiliated their children for everyone to see.
You cannot tell me that this won’t have lifelong effects on those kids. Their peers will tease them, they are growing up to believe that the world owes them something, and they no longer appear to have the ability to interact with kids their own age appropriately.
If the Gosselin parents could put their greed aside for one moment they would see how much harm they are doing to their kids.
The show won’t stop as long as Jon and Kate have the ability to wring one more dollar out of those children.
yawn and hate are greedy, ugly, nasty people. i am sick of seeing her ugly face all over tv. take them off.
The people who bag on Jon and kate plus eight do not know the whole story! Before they start making accusations they should get the whole story! READ THEIR BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am obsessed with that show and have seen each one at least a dozen times! Start watching the show and you will learn how kate feels about their privacy! Kids will not teeze them because they will be sooooo rich! The other day i read on the internet that someone thinks that Hannah is fat! She is only four years old!

I’ve said it before: if they insist on hanging their dirty laundry out in front of the entire world, they are going to get comments. These kids most embarrassing moments (or what will be considered the most embarrassing moments when they hit the teen years) are now going to be immortalized on DVD for all time. It’s exploitation pure and simple, which is why I will not watch the show. Reading about it on blogs is bad enough.
And I do not buy the “They’re doing it to get money for college” argument. I know of families from when I grew up that had 5, 8, 10 kids, sent them to Catholic school and college, without going on TV. It was called hard work, frugality, self sacrifice and student loans. You don’t need to parade your kids before the media to raise them, if you live within your means.
If Kate was on welfare, she would be ripped up one side and down the other for ‘having kids she can’t support’. Why is this any different? The only difference I see is people voluntarily paying the bill by watching this.
I <3 Jon and Kate Plus 8 and u people do not know the whole story! if u wud actually take time 2 watch the kids love the camera people and get many opportunities! Kate maybe is a little high-strung but she’s good natured! This is also just my opinion but i think the rollof’s are stuck-up and fight 2 much! Go Jon, Kate, Cara, Mady, Alexis, HANNAH

I’ve watched the show a few times, I felt I needed to see what all the hype was about and frankly, I was completely annoyed by this family. The kids are cute enough, maybe because I have my own to watch day after day, I just don’t see the appeal of watching them but hey, to each his own. The main part that I find annoying is the parents. They just, I don’t know, seem clueless, and the fact that they have a following of people that want to be just like them scares me. I don’t think they should be held up as an example but rather as a cautionary tale. All in all, I think the show has run it’s course and the kids deserve to have some privacy now.
I wish everyone who was a fan of this show would read about the Dionne Qunituplets. Back in the 30’s they were the first set of quints to ever survive. They ended up being set up in ‘Quintland’ and turned into a spectacle. It completely destroyed their relationship with their family. They wrote a letter to the McCaughey parents (the septuplets) when they were born begging them to not turn their kids into entertainment. From their experience, it was a horrible way to grow up. This show is just a modern version of that – a glorified freak show, and the kids are going to be the losers in the end. These kids are being exploited by the people who should be protecting them.

Kate needs a serious dose of anafranil (it’s an anti-OCD drug). And someone needs to talk to her about how she talks to Jon – he’s not her manservant. AND…my DH stopped on the show the other night to see “The New House” (funny we never saw the outside of it). When Kate took the children into her room and said, “This is the last time you will EVER set foot in here” I looked at my DH and said, “If I am ever that unkind to our children, take them and leave.” She acts like her children are an imposition in her life. When her children are the reason she HAS that room! That bugs me to the nth degree.
I found the thoughts expressed my Gina to be my opinion also. As a grandmother of 4 and mother of 3, I never once told my family they were not welcome in my room.Being together is vital in any family. If you want privacy, don’t have 8 children and don’t shut them out of your life,
I believe that this show should be continued to be aired. There is nothing wrong with the show at all. I think Jon and Kate know what they are doing here. Even in an episode it was mentioned that if things didn’t feel normal anymore, they would stop filming…And to those out there saying the family is ugly and they all have problems, you are wrong. They seem pretty normal to me, nobody’s perfect right???
This whole situation makes me puke!! Both Kate and Jon have exploited their enormous blessings ten fold and still expect things to just fall in their lap because they have 8 kids. Having kids is a CHOICE!! Yes, they didn’t decide to have 8 kids but they KNEW what the possibilities were. Why should they be paid for it? They were sent on a wonderful vacation where they renewed their vows – how lovely – and now they have this huge, beautiful house!! I, also, heard recently that some very rich family member has given them money and know Kate and Jon can afford nannies!! What the hell?? They should nOT receive a dime!! Instead, they should be paying back what they have been given. The show should be dropped and royalties should go to some charity or hospital. Have you seen how well those kids are dressed?? The should be living within their means!! If there is suffering – oh well. Drop the show! Drop Kate!!
I love the show. Kate and Jon have done a great job. The children are adorable and act very normal. They obviously love their parents and eachother. They are clean and dressed with class. Anyone that thinks sitting on a potty chair is in bad taste obviously have big problems in their own life. Kate is beautifull and jon is very handsome, and together made six adorable miracles. Alot of you people sound jeleous. these kids do not have to walk in a line and clean the house ir cook the meals. They are allowed to cry, argue and play. I really don’t know how they do it. Anyone who does not have words now and then are lying, in my opinion. I would love to meet all of them when I am driving across country. I have 3 children. One is a graduate of U-PENN Law School, one is a genius with computers and works in the SILICON VALLEY in CA and my daughter attended UNLV. She is lucky enough to be a stay at home mom and will never have to work, just like kate and guess what, she came from a mom just like kate. .I also am a nurse. Nurses are a horse of a different color. If you don’t like the show then don’t watch it. Life is all about choices. You can’t make your light shine brighter by blowing out the other guys candle.
I bet the kids will miss Aunt Jodi babysitting and Uncle Kevin helping Jon with the shelves in the garage and playing with their cousins. What great relatives! Now it’s going to be just the 10 of them — no other family – no friends – no neighbors stopping by. Kids being home schooled. This is definitely reality tv!
TIP: Maybe get some animals. 4 & 8 year olds are just so cute for so long.
I think what started out well and educational and all in the first season or two has now turned purely into exploitation and a big fat paycheck. Jon quit his “day job” and they buy a $1.4million house. Much as I think they SHOULD get off the air, I don’t see it happening as long as TLC or someone else is willing to pay them.
In order to be able to actually sit down and watch an entire episode ~ old or new ~ I need to to take an anti-anxiety pill! I will watch it with my eight year old daughter, she finds it simlpy entertaing that two parents have eight children who all behave so badly! She points out their rude behavior, and tells me how she would have handled the situation! LOL!
Tonight I watched Little People Big World and J&K+8 followed. Little People had such a good message – Matt going over to war-torn Iraq & helping 2 small children undergo surgery – the same kind of surgery that Matt’s son – who is also a little person – had.
Then J&K was about J&K. The two of them waiting in their new million dollar home for the truck to arrive with their 2 new Whirpool washers, their 2 new Whirlpool dryers, their new dishwasher, their new microwave, then picking out the new tile, and for something cute – watching six 4-year-olds paint a wall. Hmmm — not as cute as the year before? Hmmm ..must be getting older. Then ending this mind-less show by having Kate belittle Jon (just one more time) for interrupting her as she and her spineless husband speak to the camera.
TLC is this really what you want to portray as a normal loving family? Two squabbling parents yelling and bickering back and forth in front of the camera and their 8 kids. Showing the whole world all the freebees these two jobless parents get just because they had two multiples. No wonder that poor single woman in California tried so hard to have all those babies – it’s called JACKPOT.
Absolutely 100% HOT! Did you see her in those jeans last night?
That show is embarrassing to even watch. kate is incredibly foul shrew. Her husband is a pusillanimous milksop.
The elephant in the room is the kids. My god those are some ugly sprogs! I mean when you look at their parents you know nothing good can come out of that genetic trainwreck and your instincts are proven in spades. They had to work really, really hard using the latest medical technology to even create those things. Listen to nature! They weren’t suppose to produce offspring! Hence this Frankensteinish experiment produces extraordinarily ugly, ugly children with who knows what kinds of mental and physical defects. Maybe they’ll look less freakish as they grow older but they’re certainly slopping over with ugly at this point.
I can’t believe they’re actually being celebrated instead of being condemned.
Ha ha, that is true, several of them are quite scary! And am I the only person in America who finds that brat Mady completely insufferable? How can they allow that terrible behavior to go unchecked??
Time for this show to go. It is one big advertisement now. This week it was Whirlpool. It first started when Kate wanted new camera. We have had ads for so many companies and adventures now. Kate is now like the spoiled kid on the block. No one wants her for a friend.
What is so entertaining about a spoiled woman who publicly berates her husband and shrieks when her children actually act like children?
The show is pig slop.

FOR ANY DESCENT ADULT WHOM LIKE JOHN & KATE YOU NEED TO SEE WHAT THEY DID TO AUNT JODI! WE NEED TO ALL STOP WATCHING THEIR DYSFUNCTIONAL SHOW AND IT WILL DISAPPEAR!!
I started watching this show because I thought the kids were so adorable. Now, I HATE it and refuse to watch it any longer. I actually bought the first two seasons and watched them all with my husband. I can honestly say I have never seen a man’s wife remove his testies and then carry them around with her only allowing him to see them when she decides. I have NEVER seen a woman treat her husband the way Kate does while at the same time claiming to love him. I don’t know if it’s the fame/money/greed, or if this is the way she’s always been, but I will say that I will NOT be a part of her getting richer. I threw the episodes away. I feel bad for the kids because she carries on like she does. I hate how she always acts like she’s so tired all the time when it’s so clear that her husband actually does all the work with the kids. He is wonderful with them and if the public see’s that, then Kate probably does also, and she’s jealous.
I’ve seen Kate actually do work regarding the kids 3 times. Other than that, it’s always John doing it while she has her melt downs or conveniently gets sick (airplane ride for ski trip, claim of being sick to get out of taking them skiing) but then didn’t hesitate to sit in the spa for half the trip. This woman is over the top and because of her, the show has lost a family of fans.
TLC should cancel this show and John and Kate need to have the little girl Maddy seen by a doctor because there is something wrong there.
As for Jodi being offered money and Kate throwing a fit…….Karma can be harsh. Kate needs to remember that. One day..it’ll come back on her.
I watched the show like many other’s and I now can not stand what this show has become. Kate in the begining talked about budgets and hand me downs and now it is all about what they have new! I don’t think that anyone can relate to them anymore, it used to be about a big family and what it was like day to day to get by and now it is about all they get for free. I mean come on Jon doesn’t work and has said that doing the show is his work?? Come on I refuse to watch it and I think that TLC needs to take it off the air.
I love this show.I think that anyone who doesn’t like it should just watch something else instead.Some of you seem to think that Kate yells at her kids to much? I have raised only two children,who have turned out a-one and love me to death.I remember also yelling at my two sometimes,and all you sainted mom’s that haven’t? You must bottle whatever it is that you ingest,for the rest of us bad mom’s.The same goes for Kate belittling Jon.I have been married 32 yrs and also sometimes lose patience and bicker with my husband,as he does with me.I guess none of you ladies do that either? aaah Perfect mothers AND perfect wifes! Get a grip ladies,this IS a reality show!There is one thing that does bother me about the show though.I noticed that in a couple of episodes Kate and Jon mention that one of the girls (I think it is Alexis) sleeps in the basement alone ,two floors below the rest of the family because she wakes up the rest of her siblings. I think that is dangerous in the event of a fire,but more so I think it is not a good idea to mention that on national T.V. with all the children that have been abducted from their homes while the parents are sleeping these past few years!
C’mon now people…let’s start urging TLC to remove this show. I will even give them the benefit of the doubt and say that perhaps these parents started out with good intentions, but it has become an exercise in greed, self-importance, and hypocrisy. The whole situation is obnoxious at this point, and it reflects a “family” that, because of the hustling of the parents, lacks any sense of morality. It’s simply offensive.

Jon & Kate was a very nice show, untill they became money hungery. Now Kate is just out for all the money she can get. This week she had an addvertisment for washing machines, last week it was something else. She received them in her manshion. They say this house cost $1,300,000. I beleive this property may have cost many times more than that.
Kate is always complaining about the stress she is under while being on TV. She can releive the stress year easily by going off TV, and getting her old job back.
This past Monday Kate & Jon both were very tan I guess they were on an island for a child free vacation. What a laugh they have become millionares from there childrens backs.
I initially also thought that the K&J+8 was cute, interesting to watch how a mom w/ so many could hand it, but now I cannot and refuse to watch it. I started noticing that anytime Jon was/is on the show, it is to let Kate berate and belittle him. You don’t see him in any other fashion but that. It isn’t a fact of his getting hit with it every once in a while, you see it week upon week without a break. Literally, you will see it at minimum of once per episode, and he just sighs and takes it. But in seeing more of this corporation, uh excuse me, family… it is clear that they see their children as a money maker, and they want everybody to support their children. Uh, hello… you decided to have that many, now go to work and support them. Take them off their constant P/R – a- thon (their show), and let them be just real kids. Also start fairly initiating discipline. To describe their “form” of discipline would take a whole story in itself, but shortly put.. it’s atrocious. Mady … whining Mady.. is the worst of the lot.
But the last load for me (as in load of ____) of their garbage was in hearing that at events that they grace with their presence for a fee, they will only give autographs for a price. Combine that and the million dollar house and quitting all forms of legitimate work, and I agree with others… TAKE THEM OFF, they aren’t a family anymore, they are a corporation. So the ‘cute’ premise of their show is over when they become a corporation. I also will be writing to TLC to dump their show. It is only when they hear of how much people despise them will they cut them. I ALSO will be letting any company that advertises on and sponsors their show that I won’t buy their products while they advertise on their show. THAT will shut the show down in a heartbeat if they cannot get sponsors or advertisers. JOIN ME!
This show is not appropriate during these difficult times for so many families without jobs. Just does not sit well seeing all the extravagence, families are losing their homes not being given million plus homes. I think they need to shift the theme of the show. Who needs to see 2 huge new washers and a microwave she claims gross. Cleaning the frid and making such a big deal about food crunchies. Get in the real word!
Anyone who bashes Jon and Kate are crazy! I don’t know if they’re money hungry or not, but let me tell you, with 8 kids each year the financial demand is going to go up up and up, so they need to make more money to support their family. The kids aren’t on camera all the time, and no one is made to take part in any of the episodes. The cast is like family so its not a stressful environment for the kids. I thoroughly enjoy watching their success and seeing the kids get older, and i hope this show continues on for many many seasons!
I too am tired of Kate belittling Jon all the time. She is a shrew. I can’t believe she looks that good and takes care of those kids. Mady is an absolute brat.
I went to TLC and voiced my opinion, I urge you all to do it. Kate SUCKS.
I think Jon should take up golf—without the children—let him have some “man-time”
Kate could go to the spa 1 day a week to relieve her stress.Having cameras around recording your every move has to be stressful for everyone—the children too.

At first, I found the show interesting, however, Kate is, to say the least, anal. Jon is a saint to put up with her…….
The children are, for the most part, well behaved, however, Maddy is going to be a real problem child as a self-centered spoiled brat; she’ll make some teenager.
All in all, specially after the Aunt Jodi episode, where it is obviously a fact Kate is jealous of her
She is not only beautiful but a good mother and homemaker without all that organic nonesense.
For me, their season is over in our household.
I wish Jon well and good luck as he’s going to need it.
It is a shame that Kate is the way she is on the show and you really have to wonder how she is off the show…..Maybe some counsling will do that whole family some good…I do love the show and just giving sound advice which I would give to anyone of my friends.
Well all you Jon and Kate haters stop watching it and you won’t have nothing to complain about. That way us Jon and Kate LIKERS can still enjoy the show. I for one am enjoying seeing them growing up. I have been watching from day 1 of the show!!
I have not seen all of the episodes of Jon and Kate plus eight but i have seen enough to come to the conclusion that there is absolutely nothing wrong with this show. Every family in this world does have disputes like Jon and Kate. As for the person that said they were not doing this for the college money because they know of couples that had ten kids they sent to to college. This family with the ten children did not have all of their children going to college at one time. I dont know why Jon and Kate have decided to do their show but I do beleive that even if I did not like the show it would be wrong of me to judge to the family/parents in this situation and call them unnecessary names. I say so long as Jon, Kate, and all 8 kids are ok with the show then let it continue. They are just like any other family as are the roloffs. Just let them live their lives how they choose.

Kate has a HUGE ass and ugly feet. They were not meant to mate.Nature said, well, I don’t think so, but they insisted and now we will have the genes of those freakish kids passing on genes that were never meant to be in the gene pool.
It’s the opposite of natural selection, it is gene manipulation on a human scale and it is against nature!

To everyone who has had enough of this show – not me as of yet – you can always watch the newer ones, Table for 12 and the one with the young girl and her what 13 or 14 kids! Come on are they not all out for the $$$$$?
The show MUST STOP, for the sake of the entire Gosselin family. At this time, the show is ruining their family…
