Inspired2Write.com is holding a class on creating journals for journal-keepers out there!
The most wonderful gift you can give a journal-keeper is a gorgeous book she can fill with her words. In this class you’ll learn to create journal treasures like the ones you see here. You’ll also find out how to use prompts, writing resources, and easy-learn techniques to fill the pages of each one-of-a-kind journal with your own beautiful words.

This is an eight-week class. You’ll receive instructional material on six of the Mondays during class. Two of the mid- class weeks are creative catch-up weeks that give you time to complete earlier class steps or explore new ideas, ready for your next leap forward. Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll do each week:
Week 1: Jumping in with pages and pockets
You’ll jump right in an create a first set of flat pages and pocket pages. Together we’ll explore background techniques and ideas for easy to-do-page decorations.Week 2: Ideas for covers and bindings
Step two is to decide how you’d like to hold your pages together. I’ll show you an easy method that allows you to add and remove pages for easy writing. Then you’ll create an eyecatching cover… and it’s easier than it looks!Week 3: Creative catch-up week
Use this “breather” week to catch up with the steps from weeks one and two or to add extra touches and additional writing to your journal.
Week 4: Creative quotes and easy image transfers
Quotations can add focus and depth to your journal. We’ll explore quotes and incorporate them into the writing activities, and I’ll show you an easy but unbelievably impressive way of adding image transfers to journal pages.Week 5: Journaling: easy as ABC
This week’s quick and easy journaling prompts will have you writing in no time! Use on them on their own or as starters for longer texts. You’ll also explore the use of letters as focal points in writing and art.Week 6: Journaling: texts, tags and tuck-aways
Pictures often tell the stories of personal moments that not everyone needs to understand. You can tuck your secrets away in the pockets on your page. Tags and tuck-always add depth and interest to your journal and invite readers to explore. Learn how to do that this week.Week 7: Creative catch-up week
Use this “breather” week to catch up with the steps from weeks five and six or to add extra touches and additional writing to your journal.Week 8: Finishing touches and show and tell
Detail makes all the difference in writing and art. This week we’ll look at way in which you can add those all important finishing touches to your journal. You can send me a photo of your journal and get personal tips and suggestions. Our grand finale will be a show and tell of the journal you created in class.
