Joyce Sherman’s Going Topless

Now that I’ve caught the attention of the search engines…

Joyce Sherman is going one step further than accepting her hair loss. She’s showing it off to the nation! On last night’s episode of Miami Ink (TLC Channel) Joyce got a technicolor butterfly tattooed on the back of her bald head.

She’s battled the “hair today; gone tomorrow” side of alopecia since childhood, but her follicles gave out for good four years ago. While she still wears a wig for business, the tattoo is a memorial to embracing the her new self. I think she sasy it well:

“The butterfly, to me, is a symbol of change. My message is that it’s a beautiful change.” (link)
