Just What He Wanted

Something Charlie already has in book/video/DVD form………. It was the first present he opened and the one he kept by him when he fell asleep on the couch. (Any guesses?)

Ah! A stuffed animal of the character on the DVD/book. Hm. Barney?

You’ll tell us when we get it, right?

  2. Linda says:

Leap Frog or blue fleece jacket?

    Tell, please!

  3. He did get a blue fleece jacket from my aunt —- and a case for his Leapster, though since he has two Leapsters, I guess we need to go to Target!

It’s a favorite book from the good old days…… there’s a quiet old lady whispering “XXX”……

  4. jypsy says:

“there’s a quiet old lady whispering “XXX””

Well the “XXX” part would lead me to Jenny McCarthy but as she’s not “quiet” (and “lady” isn’t an adjective I’d use) and since I haven’t seen AoA Action Figures advertised, I’m guessing ….. I haven’t a clue.

Alex got just what he wanted. Easy pick, it goes with his collection (and “special interest”: Stats)

  5. Like it! (alex’s gift)

It’s a “quiet old lady whispering hush”—-I suspect Charlie would not be inclined to get anywhere near McCarthy. But that’s my supposition!

  6. Maria says:

Ahhh, Goodnight Moon! The stuffed story figure set or perhaps the board game?

  7. The DVD! He popped it immediately into the DVD drive on my laptop……………. Used to have the lotto game, have 2 rabbits in striped pajamas (Charlie’s never been interested in them). There was a wonderful tape that including the story read aloud and some songs; Charlie pulled the tapes out and I still have yet to find it on CD.

Alex actually said “books” were his favourite gift – the other (still feeding that interest) was the almost as big and almost as thick “Top 10 of Everything 2009″.

Also, just realized, like Charlie, Alex now owns a blue, fleece hoodie. Feeding another interest, it wasn’t the blue or the fleece or the hoodie – it was the Vancouver 2010 Olympic logo that sold me on it. (Got matching sweatpants too for the guy who wears shorts year round!)

  9. Regan says:

I’m guessing that this is a different CD?

So glad that Charlie received a “winner”. :-) .

    Happy Holidays.

  10. That’s it! But I need to check if it’s definitely a CD—-cassettes don’t last too long around here!

  11. Maria says:

Is it the Goodnight Moon and Other Sleepytime Tales DVD? A good one! Another wonderful DVD with great animation and music is The Very Hungry Caterpillar & other stories.

  12. Alissa says:

Oh wow, I had no idea that a Goodnight Moon dvd exists! The book is my little guy’s favorite.

Kristina, I have been reading along for a few weeks now and really enjoy hearing about your life with Charlie. You write with such tenderness and love. We are less than a year out from my son’s diagnosis, and I will admit that I still struggle quite a bit. Your gracious acceptance of autism and the joy you take from life are inspiring. Wishing you and your family a very happy 2009.
