Keep Warm with Old Stuff

November 24, 2007 by Joshua Johnson

This week I saw that we were down to around 0 degrees (that’s zero) Fahrenheit, so I thought some junk warm-up tips from a post titled COLD WEATHER TIPS-II from the LINK9 blog.

Here are a couple of warm-up ideas:

Make a loose fitting bag from an old blanket or carpet padding to put both feet in when in your sleeping bag.
A bag liner made from an old blanket, preferably wool, will greatly enhance the bags warmth.

I don’t get cold easily, but I know many people who might sleep better when camping (or when their heat goes out) if they followed the above advice.

Keep warm!

  1. I have a hard time sleeping when I’m cold. A few times, I have put my heating pad under the covers on my feet. (It has an automatic shut off.) Having warm feet does the trick. I’m fast asleep!

  2. That would keep me up at night. My wife would probably love it, though.
