Keep Your Body Cooking This Winter With Warming Herbs and Spices

In the winter, we all slow down a little. And yes, we all tend to gain a few pounds. According to Ayurvedic, principles, this is nature’s way of cushioning us against the harsh weather and cold.
One of the most soothing ways to combat this natural lull is by stoking our digestive fire, or agni, which intensifies this time of year, making it possible for us to digest higher fat foods, like dairy, nuts and seasonal root vegetables. By feeding your agni, you can keep your system moving in a healthy direction all winter long.
To keep your agni working at its peak, try warming up your diet–literally–with herbs and spices like cinnamon, cloves, fennel, basil and pepper. Each of these can be added to a variety of dishes like soups, stews, oatmeal and spiced apple cider.
Delicious and essential, adding these ingredients to your dishes will stir up your agnie and keep your digestive fire cooking all winter long!
Enjoy and Peace.

Thanks for the great tip. Cindi
Am definitely struggling to keep warm! I think I’ve nearly gone through a whole bottle of cinnamon with the amount I add to my oatmeal, hehe.
