Keeping track of medications

June 27, 2008 by Marijke Durning, RN

If you take several medications, you may find it hard to keep track of them. Some medications have very similar names and can be confusing to even those of use who are experienced with medications. For example, I take a medication called Celexa (an antidepressant). For some reason, whenever I have to go to a new doctor or a clinic, I want to tell them I take Celebrex, a medication for pain. That happens a lot.

So, if you do want a good way to keep track of your medications, my friend Kathy uses this spreadsheet. She said I could put it on Help My Hurt in case anyone here can use it as well.

I love your site. I come here at least once or twice a day. Keep up the good work. I’ve also used Celebrex when speaking of my anti-depressant. Happy I am not the only one.

  2. Hi Penny, thanks so much for your kind words. I’m also glad to hear I’m not the only one to mix the two meds up. Odd, isn’t it?
