Keeping Up With Kitchen Clutter

So, what do you do to keep hold of your kitchen clutter.  Maricar at Keeping the Castle has a problem with her kitchen island and dining room table.  Does that sound familiar? We have a small house and don’t have a dining room, but I notice by walking into most homes that the dining room table is usually used for everything except dining.  My problem is with our kitchen bar, for most it is like their island.  Everything goes there.  I got smart and finally go a box to put all the papers in…I need to go through them.  I have now made a rule that everyday I will take 5 things from that box to do with what I must.

Declutter It has some great websites on how to get your crap together.  Yes, I say crap…but the crap that I just can’t seem to pry myself away from.

My problem is that I do not have an area that is just mine.  So, it usually all ends up on the bar.  My husband has been slowly working on some shelves.  By slowly I mean that we have had half of the shelves up for 6 months.  Oh, if there were but 34 hours in a day.  And that stack of papers in a box.  I put that together last week.  Last I checked it was still there…hmmm…maybe tomorrow???
