I’m on a roll! I’m devoting the rest of this week’s posts on the importance of nutrition for our children’s health.
Integral to raising healthy children is a healthy eating lifestyle – getting them to eat the right balance in the food pyramid, or why they need 8 glasses of fluids each day, or how to look at food labels, or choosing the right school lunch. So I looked for INTERACTIVE ways of getting children more interested in their own nutrition.
Here are five cool and highly informative sites:
- Kidnetic.com – Offers interactive games, recipes, and tips for healthy eating and living.
- Empowered Kidz: The Power of Healthy Eating - Offers information, resources and activities for kids 5 to 17 on healthy eating, dieting, body image, and eating disorders. Includes surveys and quizzes.
- Nutrition Cafe – Be a Nutrition Sleuth, play the Grab-a-Grape game or build a meal in the Have-a-Bite Cafe.
- Nutrition Explorations - Join Berry and the gang from The Pyramid Cafe to learn about building a healthy body. Features games, coloring pages, recipes, contest, and kids panel.
- Mission Nutrition – Interactive game to help kids test what they know about healthy foods.
Check them out with your kids and tell me if they liked the games and activities (and learned from them too).
