I’m really excited about October for Kids Health Notes. One of the best ways that this blog can serve you is to help your families’ health by encouraging the use of eco-friendly products in our homes. Less chemicals in our cleaners mean less hazard for our children.
‘Sides, it’s Kids Health Notes’ First Anniversary last month, so I want to start the new year with cleaner, greener, and healthier families for our readers.
I’m giving away three products that have been parent-tested and parent-approved, so you know they really work.
- Universal Stone all-purpose cream based cleaner. It’s certified green and made in Europe.
- Seventh Generation cleaning products.
- Ringley Teether. This a wooden and organic cloth teething ring that parents and infants love!
So, who’s up for it? Here’s how to join.
Answer this in the comment: What is one household chore you really love to do?
- One entry per person per day.
- It’s open to residents of the US only.
- Contest ends 11:59 midnight EST on October 12, 2008 (Sunday). Three winners will be randomly chosen and announced via blog and email the week after.
- If a winner does not reply within 3 days, he/she forfeits her winnings and an alternate entry will be chosen.
- REMINDER #1 : In previous contests, I have had several winners forfeited for failure to reply to my emails. Please make sure your settings don’t put my email into the junk folder, otherwise you’ll have no idea you won. Better yet, please check this blog for the winners’ list after the contest ends. Best bet, come back often and stay a reader!
- REMINDER #2: Only entries with legit answers will be included in the draw. There are good reasons I ask these questions in Kids Health Notes. Actually, only a few forget to answer the questions, but I really want to include all commenters into the contest, so just take note of that when you join. And as always, I appreciate the conversation. Have fun here!
UPDATE: This contest is now closed.

Sweet
The one household chore I really love doing is washing clothes. There is something about the smell of clean clothes straight from the dryer which makes me feel so good. My grandmother always said that it does not matter if you have the newest clothes as long as they are always clean. When I wash clothes I always think of my grandmother and it is kind of a bond which I hope does not sound too silly.
I love cleaning, believe it or not!
I love to take out the garbage because it is the easiest chore!
I LOVE to clean, love it. The only chore I dislike is folding clothes. The rest I LOVE to do. I esp love vacuuming – it is so easy and I love my nice plush CLEAN carpet afterward.
Thank you!!
This would be so wonderful.
I love doing laundry now. My husband bought me one of those LG Steam washing machine and dryers last year. Its so cool looking, and its a sports car red color. It is soooo cool!
I’m obsessed with clean floors! I notice a floor when I walk in a house first things first. I mop a mean floor!
Vacuuming!! It’s like therapy.
Cooking
I don’t believe there are any household chores I “enjoy”. I love the final results of having clean sheets or having the kitchen cleaned up after a meal and all that, but the actual activity . . . nope.
I love doing the dishes!
I love to sweep the floors!!!
I love to organize and rearrange things.
I actually enjoy doing the laundry. I love the clean fresh scent when it is all done.
Vacuuming
I love to vaccuum, because it makes it look like I’ve done far more housework than I really have, and I am able to fool my husband into thinking that I’ve had a productive day.

i love the laundry when it is all done and clean…
We recently bought a new Dyson Vacuum Cleaner and it works so much better than our old one I actually like vacuuming now. It actually cleans the air as well as the carpet.
baking is fun if you consider it a chore.
I love to vacuum.
Vacuuming
I love ironing. There is such a sense of satisfaction with a crisply ironed shirt or dress. Thanks for the giveaway chance!
Thank you so much for this giveaway. The chore that I like most is vaccuming. I also love to iron. Thanks so much for offering this giveaway.
vacuming
clean yet green
I love to dust.
My first thought is there is not one, but once I get started I do enjoy polishing my large pieces of wood furniture, it is very satisfying and I know it is good for the wood and looks good.
cooking because I can create- sure like all I have a bad day and don’t want to or get lazy but love the fact I can create, add and change and love see the faces of those who eat and enjoy—-Cooking is a chore fyi
Anything w/music
laundry, at least the bedclothes, everyone sleeps better for that night!
Honestly, I love any household activity I can do without my toddler around. My husband works nights so its hard – so I haven’t done much by myself yet – so he either helps – making it longer or its dangerous – like if I’m washing floors each week – so he has to go in his high chair and is most upset about it and lets me know.
Doesn’t answer specifically though does it? I actually have found one activity I can do with him – wash dishes. I used to like this and all activities like it because its like meditation – I concentrate only on that and nothing else – but now I like it because its become fun and silly – and three times and long!
I love… well, I tolerate laundry. There’s nothing better than the feeling of being finished and having all my clothes put away and available to wear. So in that way, I guess I do love it

Yikes! I wish some of you would move in to do all the chores you love doing and I hate… But I actually don’t really mind doing dishes, though my favorite “chores” are cooking and organizing / rearranging to make everything more attractive and user friendly! Thanks!
I enjoy vacuuming – immediate results and the noise allows me to think without interruption.
I love to cook.
would love to try
I love to Iron.
I actually like to iron.
Oh I can handle empting the dish washer!
organizing the closet is probably my favorite
I wouldn’t say I love any chore, but I don’t mind doing the dishes. My husband is the cook of the household, so dishes is my chore and it’s definitely worth it because he is a great cook!
laundry
I truly love to vacuum because it’s fast the the effect is obvious. It gives me a sense of accomplishment.
I love cooking and baking.
I really like to clean, but hate laundry, dishes and ironing.
I hate cleaning, but i like doing laundry. I enjoy being alone in the quiet laundry room; folding clothes can be quite meditative.
I love to cook. dusting and vacuuming isn’t bad either. it’s fairly easy.
