Kourtney Kardashian Talks About Abortion

Kourtney Kardashian recently announced that she’s pregnant with her on again/off again boyfriend, Scott Disick. Now she’s admitting that when she first found out she was pregnant, she considered abortion. She stresses that every woman should be able to choose to keep a baby or not.

I think her honesty is going to get a lot of flak from people. While I don’t agree that abortion is a good idea (being someone who is adopted), I think the important thing to focus on here is that she took the time to let it all sink in and then tried to make an informed decision. She stressed that in talking to other people, it was the regret at having an abortion that stayed with them over time. It’s not a quick and simple “fix” to an unplanned pregnancy.

She said:

“It wasn’t like I was raped, it’s not like I’m 16. I’m 30 years old, I make my own money, I support myself, I can afford to have a baby. And I am with someone who I love, and have been with for a long time.”
