LA Offers Free Cancer Screenings

The women who are at the greatest risk of dying from cancer are “women of color and those who are financially disadvantaged.”  Too often it seems that the people who need the tests the most are the ones who can’t afford to get them.

Now for some good news. The L.A. County Department of Public Health is “offering free breast and cervical cancer screening tests for low-income women with no health insurance.” This couldn’t come at a better time, with unemployment at all-time high.
