Lazy Brits with Heart Disease Costing Taxpayers Money

Physical inactivity costs the UK National Health Service (NHS) over 2 million dollars a year with more than half of that related to coronary heart disease. Steve Shaffelburg, of the British Heart Foundation (BHF):
This research is yet more evidence showing how important physical activity is for our overall health, and especially for our heart health.
All adults should aim to take 30 minutes of moderate physical activity on five days a week at least. It can be enjoyable, cheap and easy to fit into everyday life. Brisk walking, swimming and gardening are great examples.
You are never too old to start being active, but people who are not used to physical activity and not sure of what activity is right for them should discuss it with their GP.
The BHF will be launching a new campaign next month to get people moving. I can’t wait to see what it is because their public service ads are always innovative, shocking, and daring.
Like this post? Why not read another? Every page you read at A Hearty Life in March is helping to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
PS I hope I didn’t offend anyone by calling Brits lazy. It was just a joke. I live in the UK and think the English are brilliant.
