Leap Year Journal Writing Prompt

February 29, 2008 by Heather Goldsmith

In case you weren’t aware today is 29th February, which makes this year, 2008, a leap year. As a journal writing prompt think about what you were doing on this day last leap year. If you’ve been keeping a journal all this time you will find this an easy exercise. Locate that date in your old journal and reread the entry. Make a comparison with today. How much has changed? Has four years made any difference to your problems or situation? If not, reflect on why this is the case. What can you do so the next four years will be different? Write a journal entry answering these questions and any others that emerge as you read, think and write.

It’s pretty cool remembering Feb 29, 4 years ago cuz I was pregnant with my daughter! My mom had recently returned from living in England, and we were all living together and getting ready for the arrival of the baby. :) )

  2. Hi Annette,
Thanks for sharing your comment. Lovely memories for you, too. ;-)
