Leave Your Guilt Behind

“This one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind I press forward to what lies ahead” (Philippians 3:13).
I know religion – or lack thereof – varies among you Mental Health Notes readers. I am not a religious person, per se, but I do believe in God and, on my better days, consider myself a Christian.
With that being said, let’s move forward to the point.
I subscribe to Today’s Word with Joel & Victoria from Joel Osteen Ministries, and again, on my better days I read my daily “Today’s Word…” email.
Fortunately, today is one of my better days. Fortunately – for both me and you, religious preferences aside – because today’s email from Joel pertains to something I’ve talked about here at Mental Health Notes before: Guilt. 2007 Reasons To Unload Your Guilt and Make Your 2008 Guilt-Free look at how mentally unhealthy guilt can be and ways to eliminate that guilt.
Today’s Word with Joel & Victoria, similarly, focuses on leaving the past in the past. It’s appropriately titled “Forget What Lies Behind,” and I encourage you all to check it out. Regardless of which god you do or do not worship, there’s a message there for all.
What do you think?
