L’eglise St Etienne du Mont

There are plenty of structures I’d like to travel to and view in person, but few of those fall under the heading, religious structures. Yeah, there are some very cool churches, they just don’t happen to be my thing. However, I’ve now decided that I must see the  L’eglise St Etienne du Mont in Paris.

This amazing church was started in 1492, but it took many years to complete (big shock I know). Like all good Gothic-looking churches there are stone sculptures, wood carvings, and stained-glass a plenty. My favorite component (or what sold me on this church) are the beautiful and almost surreal looking stone staircases.

Wow. You could look at these staircases all day long.

NOTE: Sorry if you like this structure better when spelled: Église St-Etienne-du-Mont – I was torn.

  1. Peggy says:

Oh, well this is just one more reason I need to go to France.

  2. Well, don’t forget to take me with you when you go. Maybe we could side track to Italy :)
