Let the Clicker Wars Begin…

So, we’ve not had much of a remote control war in our home. We actually fight more over the remote at my mom’s house. Not only does she have cable, but she also has the Fox Soccer Channel. Yeah. I usually lose that battle. (Yes, at my own mother’s house. Can you imagine?!?!)

Anyway, that’s all about to end soon. In the 11 years of our marriage, we’ve only had cable for two months, one month at a time. That would be for World Cup 1998 and World Cup 2002. Yes, the only time we had cable was for soccer. I got the hours that soccer wasn’t on, which amounted to tons of reruns of Law and Order on TNT.

We realized the other day we could get cable, phone and internet for the same price that we’re currently paying for just phone and internet. Yeah. Rip off. So, TLC, HGTV, FoodNetwork, History Channel, Discovery…..here we come!!! We are about to make our foray into the clicker wars.

I think the only reason I stand a chance is that our tier doesn’t include the Fox Soccer Channel. ;)

My husband and I just got cable for the first time. It’s crazy!

The best thing we ever did to limit the clicker wars was to buy Tivo. The cost is actually less than you might think. I love that I can be in the middle of the A&E Jane Austen movie on PBS, and then pause it to let him see the latest Yankees update. Good luck!
