Let’s talk about peanuts

peanuts

Have you been tracking the details of the peanut-plant salmonella contamination and food recalls? How scary is that? That contamination has gone on this long and the one plant never having been inspected?

Personally, I’d like to see the justice system go Erin Brokovich on his ass – lock him in a room with nothing to eat or drink but water and his own peanut products.

Stewart Parnell aka Peanut Corp. of American head honcho would be face-to-face with his own demons. Would he choose to starve or would he choose to risk eating foods he knows to be contaminated? All the pleading the fifth in the world wouldn’t be able to save his guilty ass in that situation.

Apparently during the hearing, both Parnell and his sidekick were offered products from a jar or recalled items and both refused to eat anything from that jar. Sure that’s ok – but to put them in a position where they had no choice – sort of like the American people they infected, that would be justice at it’s best.

As a parent of kids who eat a lot of peanut butter and peanut products, I have to wonder what more consumers can be doing to protect their families. When food related products and factories move into your area, would it be feasible to call authorities and put them on someone’s radar? Who would we call?

I don’t believe it should come to 600 sick and nine deaths before something is done. I’m just not sure what?

Since this peanut salmonella outbreak has occurred, have you changed your eating habits any?  How has this recall and consumer threat impacted your family? Would you know a salmonella related sickness if you or a family member became ill? Label Recall has complete details on this potentially deadly bacterial infection.
