Life in a House That’s Smaller Than Some Closets

I’ve had this site for Tumbleweed Tiny House Company bookmarked forever. I keep looking at these little homes, but wondered about the realistic qualities of them. Then, I noticed the video. The video made me really want to post the tiny Tumbleweed homes, because I think it really gives you a nice look into living small.
Epu in the fields of Sebastopol, CA. 96 square feet:

Basically, Tumbleweed is a company that designs, builds, and sells both ready made homes and plans for extremely tiny homes. These homes are so small that the standard size is 120 square feet or less (although some are a wee bit bigger) and they can be affixed to a trailer, and are road ready.

Nice; and I thought I wanted an RV. This is way better. I’m just going to give a basic run down of size. If you want to take a look inside (believe me, you do) then visit the house page at the Tumbleweed site – most have great interior slide shows. There is also a handy FAQ.
Harbinger; 490 square fee:

My favorite is, unsurprisingly, the Z-Glass House at 400 square feet. Too big for a trailer I guess, but way slick:

After the jump; interior shots!

You know, this post is getting sort of long. I think I’ll come back with the ultra slick video and some benefits of a Tumbleweed home.

I want one. If for no other reason that the only person that would fit int here is me adn I am tired of the crowd at my house today.
You are right though..two of the closets in our house are 100 sq feet.
I think the closets in the house we built came to about that as well, but we fit a bed in one of them during the building process (it was warmer than the bedroom until we had the roof done.
I like your thinking though. You could be all alone – you could even use this as an office space. I showed it to Cedar, thinking he’d think it was cool – being mobile and all, and he hated it. He said, “I’d never live in there! It’s too small and bumpy when I sleep.” So much for that.
I cannot even tell you how tempting this is! My husband and I have all but decided to build one as a guest house when we move to Colorado for his mom to live in during the summers. We’ll see! I just love them!!!

Oh, my gosh, if you build one, you have to photograph the process so I can post it. I LOVE these. I want one instead a travel trailer (what I’ve been considering). I want to travel for a year or so with Cedar at some point and this would be great.
Before on long road trips I’ve lived in trucks and cars – which was fine and fun but this would be both bigger and warmer!
