Limit Stress: Be Thinner

There’s the term “fat and happy,” but in actuality the real culprit in weight gain all too often is stress. Feeling overwhelmed and having too much to deal with can also “make you sleep fewer hours, get sick more often, remember less” and also ” become more prone to long-term disease.”
Hearing all that is enough to make you stress out as if you weren’t already!

Being stressed out is the time many of us reach for the cookie jar. But doing that too often can cause unwanted weight gain, making us feel even more tired and run down.
Instead of reaching for food in times of stress, pay attention to the signs when your body first feels anxiety. Then, react by doing some healthy unwinding like reading a book, watching a funny movie, calling a friend, or even going for a walk. The times you are really stressed out are the times that you need to be that much kinder to your body.

I am definitely a stress eater! It’s something I’ve had to work at to control. For many years I didn’t “feel” my stress, I ate it. It’s still really easy to eat my worries away, I just have to remember that eating too much just adds to my long term stress:-)
