Our friends at Baldiness might be interested in the latest gene to be implicated in hairloss – lipase H (LIPH). A study of 50 unrelated Russian families with hereditary hair loss and slow-growing hair in both sexes, adults and children, has identified a mutation in the LIPH gene that may play a role in the rate of hair growth. Drugs that target the LIPH gene could be useful for treating hair loss.
