Liquor box storage

I’ve been moving, as noted earlier. Because I’ve been moving, I needed boxes. One great place to get boxes is from the good ol’ liquor store. The boxes are always super strong, because they’re made to hold heavy bottles, and they often have compartments. Compartments don’t work well for packing big stuff, but are great for packing bathroom items and things like long kitchen glasses and vases.

But this is not about the many splendid ways to pack a wine box while moving. What I’ve been thinking is that you can keep your wine (or other liquor boxes) after the move and put them to good use. This is a super inexpensive way to create quick storage.

If you have a compartment box, you can cover it in heavy (and nice looking) wrapping paper or left-over wallpaper, turn it on its side and use it to store slender shoes or try it out as a magazine rack (roll the magazines). You can stand it upright and use it for storing kids blocks, and other small toy items, or use it to organize items like belts. You can also use it in the kitchen for storing items such as pre-packaged snacks - maybe make  snack compartment for each person in the house.

What else can you think of?
