When I was a kid, one of my favorite holidays was Valentine’s Day. I loved the red and the pink, the frilly doilies, the candy (!) and exchanging cards. Since our school had a policy that anyone who brought Valentine’s Day cards had to bring one for every person in the class, no one was left out at Valentine’s Day – isn’t that a wonderful sentiment?
This week at One Book, Two Book, I’ll be reviewing books with an element of romance – ooh la la! To get us started, I thought it would be fun to do Valentine’s rhymes for our favorite books and characters. To play along, complete this ode to your favorite children’s book or character:
Roses are Red
Violets are Blue
Here’s my first one:
Roses are Red
Violets are Blue
The best girl detective
Is Nancy Drew!
(see, no need to be a poet to try your hand)
Sooooo…. Your turn! Give it a go:
Roses are Red
Violets are Blue

…When Madeline sees a tiger,
She just says, poo-poo.
Great! here’s another take on ‘poo’ –>
…Eeyore’s favorite buddy
Is a yellow bear named Pooh!
