Love Takes Off Masks

“Love takes off masks that we fear we cannot live without and know we cannot live within.”
— James Baldwin
I reckon every individual has his or her own set of insecurities. They carry these insecurities with them as they enter relationships; may affect their choice of a mate, manner of relating, or how they attract a prospect.
Most of us wish to find love at one point in our lives. However, we are plagued with self-doubts, which often hinder its realisation. Hence, we resort to masks. Pretense. Layers upon layers of concealers to hide the blemishes that causes you to cringe at the sight of your own reflection.
When you do find love, it will give you the strength to unshackle yourself from these doubts and insecurities. You no longer see the need to hide and cover up. Love causes one to accept and understand. No more lies nor deception. You will get to know the “you” that the other person sees and loves. You will discover that you aren’t as bad as you thought you were. You will learn to face yourself and your life without fear or hesitation.
Love will set the “real you” free.
