It seems like diabetics are constantly finding out something negative. First we get the disease, and then we find out about all the other horrible conditions we could possibly get one day. Now, however, there’s actually something positive for people with Type 2 Diabetes.

According to a new study, men with Type 2 Diabetes “are at less risk of developing prostate cancer than men without diabetes.” They have not been able to determine exactly why diabetes seems to offer protection against this type of cancer. More research is needed. In the meantime, however, diabetic men can take some comfort in the fact that they are at a reduced risk for the second-most common cancer in American men.
