Magic Soup is something my mother invented, when I first got sick. OK, she probably didn’t invent it (after all, it is just vegetable soup), but for a really long time, it was the only thing in my life, that made me feel instantly better. Hence, the name “magic soup”. I am going to share her recipe with all of you now. Since, I didnt ever actually watch her make the soup, I don’t know the proportions. However, I assume its just like any other soup recipe. So here is the list of ingredients.
- chicken broth (or vegetable)- when things were really bad, I chose the veggie broth
- potatoes
- canned tomatoes
- green beans
- squash
- onion
- whatever frozen vegetables you have
- carrots
- bay leaf
- a ton of curry
The curry is the magic, in this soup. It makes you feel all warm and comfy. My mother, will tell you, that the secret ingredient is love, but I know better. Its the curry (trust me). After a bowl of this soup, I would have the best sleep, ever. It really does have healing properties.
If you are having a really low energy day. I suggest, that you strain out all the vegetables , and just drink the broth. Sometimes, that is all you need.
Trust me, this works.

Soup is such good comfort food. Anything to boost your mood and hyper blast nutrition into your body is great. I know that when I’m feeling down I don’t like to bother to cook and don’t eat well … if you had some frozen portions ready to go … zap in the nuke. Instant love.
what a great idea…..instant love.
its really important to eat well, especially when you feel awful.
and once you get off any elimination diet (such as the BRAT) its a very welcome change.
its so excellent. and you can make it for me, next time you see me (and i am a little under the weather).
